Our Story

A Tale of A Farmer and His Dream

Jeremy and Gerald at the farm

Every great tree has a story, and so does this farm.

For more than 20 years, our farm was known throughout South Louisiana as Gerald's Tree Farm. Through years of hard work, dedication, and a passion for growing exceptional container-grown Southern Live Oaks, Gerald built more than a tree farm—he built a reputation for quality, trust, and lasting relationships with the people and communities he served.

Today, that story continues as Legacy Tree Farms. Our vision is simple: preserve everything that made this farm special while continuing to grow for generations to come. We're committed to raising the same healthy, high-quality trees, providing the same dependable service, and helping homeowners, contractors, and businesses create landscapes that will stand the test of time.

From carefully cultivating each tree to offering professional delivery and installation, every part of what we do is centered on quality, craftsmanship, and serving our customers well. Whether you're planting a single Live Oak in your front yard or sourcing trees for a large development, we're here to help you every step of the way.

The name may have changed, but the roots remain the same. Thank you for allowing us to continue the story that Gerald began and for trusting Legacy Tree Farms to be part of yours.

Our Farm Philosophy is Consierge

At Legacy Tree Farms, we believe a strong tree begins with strong roots. Every Southern Live Oak is grown with intention, patience, and care, using thoughtful growing practices like Air-Pot containers to support healthier root development from the very beginning. From the way each tree is raised to the way it is prepared for planting, our focus is on producing Live Oaks that are built to thrive in the south.

Our farm philosophy is rooted in quality, education, and lasting relationships. We want every customer to feel confident in the tree they choose, understand how to care for it, and know they have support beyond the day it is planted. For us, growing Live Oaks is not just about providing trees — it is about helping create shade, beauty, and legacy for generations to come.

The Importance of Air-Pot Growing

Air-Pot containers help trees develop healthier root systems by encouraging roots to grow outward instead of circling inside a traditional container. This matters because circular roots can create long-term deformities that affect a tree’s growth, stability, and ability to thrive after planting.

Traditional containers can restrict root development over time, while Air-Pot growing promotes a stronger radial root system from the beginning. For Legacy Tree Farms, this means each Southern Live Oak is grown with a healthier foundation, helping support long-term strength, beauty, and resilience in the landscape.

Air-Pots vs Standard Grown Comparison

4 Year Comparison

After four years in the ground, the difference below the surface becomes clear. The standard-grown tree (left) shows circular root growth and root deformity, while the Air-Pot-grown tree (right) develops a healthier root structure designed for long-term strength.

8 Year Comparison

After eight years, poor root development can affect the life, stability, and future growth of a tree. The Air-Pot-grown tree (right) shows a healthier radial root system with no deformity, giving it a stronger foundation for lasting growth unlike the standard grown tree (left).
